Matthew is a native of Binghamton, and has been involved in church music since the age of 15 when he sang with his church choir at St. Marys in Binghamton. He began to study piano at age 8 and continued under the tutelage of several teachers, most notably Irene Kanazawich and Jan Deangelo, who became a mentor to him in music ministry. He studied classical voice at Purchase College Conservatory with Jacque Trussel, and Tom Goodheart ,where he received a BFA in Operatic Performance. He has worked in several parishes through the years and each has helped him to grow as a music director and conductor along the way. These include St. Vincent's Church in Vestal, St Marys Church in Plymouth, MA and Church of St Mary in Albany ,NY. He currently teaches 4-8 music at Whitney Point School District and maintains a Voice and Piano studio in Binghamton and Norwich. Matthew is currently attending the Formation for Ministry Courses offered through our diocese and hopes to pursue a vocation to the Permanent Diaconate. He his happily married to Kelly and they have two beautiful children Cecilia, and Jude.
